Clock In's and Out's
Clock in and out to accurately reflect hours of attendance, know that I am fully responsible for missed time and missed clocks. An Instructor will not fix missed clocks.
Arrive for all classes on time and understand that if I'm not here by 8:10am I am not allowed to clock in until 9:30 a.m . If I am not here by 1:05 p.m. I cannot clock in without the owner's approval. ALWAYS CONTACT AMANDA. If found clocking in after 8:11am for theory without permission, you will be suspended. You may not sit in theory if you missed clock in.
Attend all Theory and Practical classes
Attend all theory and practical classes according to the schedule even if all test are complete. YOU may not leave theory to handle other business or be on your phone. You will be dismissed. It disrupts others' learning process. In the last 100 hours of Phase 4 will be preparing for state board during the theory hour with owner's approval. This is on an individual basis.
Notify AMANDA before 8:00am if I am not attending school that day or if I am running late. Still knowing that if times are missed you still cannot clock in. If I am not returning after lunch, I am to notify before 1:00 pm as well.
Advise a staff member when leaving the building for any reason, clock out any time you leave and for all breaks.

Sanitation and Cleanliness of equipment
Sanitation and cleanliness and care of equipment students are responsible for, personal workstation and all work areas they use. Each student will have a daily assigned sanitation duty and they must have it checked by an instructor before clocking out each day no matter what time you leave and must be done before phase books are signed. There are lots of jobs to be done at the end of the day and absent jobs must be done before leaving as well so pitch in. If you are not helping finish jobs and standing around, there will be consequences. Please if you see something on the floor, pick it up, help everyone out.

All grade out bags and extra stuff must be put in your locker or kept at your station. It must not be left in abag on the floor. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. It is your responsibility to replace them.
Park only in the back of the school. Don't pull up in the front and run inside to clock in and then go move your car.

Student services are earned by owing no homework or phase book work and no fees or tuition.
If receiving a service without permission, you will pay full price for that service and WILL be suspended.
Students receive one free haircut a month that must be approved by an instructor!!v It does not include a blow dry or style
On Fridays, if student is all caught up on theory work, owes no make up work and has attended theory class all week may dress in street clothes. Must be business casual!!

You must also update your own personal information with administration with new numbers or addresses.
Recommend and suggest appropriate services and product to each client your assigned so you can develop professional skills.

Be involved in your own learning- You will only gain as much knowledge as you put into it. Ask if you have a special interest in learning certain things. The instructor will assist you, it's up to you to learn as much as you can. We provide only the basics, but are more than willing to go the extra mile for students wanting to learn more.

Academic Review Board
The school Academic Review Board is composed of an instructor, all the administrative staff and owners of the college for the purpose of evaluating school policies, addressing internal grievances, and reviewing possible expulsion before final action is taken. The board meet quarterly.
Grading Policy
Students are assigned theory study and practical assignments. Theory is evaluated after each chapter and unit of study. Practical assignments are evaluated as ompleted and counted toward course completion Only when rated satisfactory or bett3er. Practical skills are evaluated according to text procedures, performance standards established by the State licensing agency, and set forth in the Practical Skills Evaluation criteria. Students must maintain a theory grade average of 75% and pass a FINAL written and practical exam prior to graduation. Students must retake
and achieve a passing grade on all failed or missed test and incomplete assignments, and make-up tests must be taken with in one week of the original missed test. Numerical grades are considered according to the following scale:

STUDENTS MUST MAINTAIN A MINIMUM OF 75% IN THEORY AND 75% IN PRACTICAL/CLINIC TO BE CONSIDERED MAKING A SATISFACTORY PROGRESS
Attendance Requirements
The New Mexico Board of Barbers and Cosmetologist has stated that a cosmetology student must complete their course at The Beauty College Of Eddy County, LLC in a maximum time of 60 weeks, Nail Tech students maximum time is 12 weeks, Esthetician student and Barber students maximum time is 40 weeks, and Instructor students maximum time is 35 weeks. Students must attend and average 120 hours per month to be considered making satisfactory attendance progress. However, to complete a course with the State mandated maximum allowed time frame, an average of 100 hours per month must be maintained to avoid over contract fees.
*Note: The contracted length of the 1600-hours Cosmetology course for students attending 32 hours per week is 60 weeks, 350- hour Nail Tech course for 32 hours per week is 16 weeks, 600-hour Esthetician and 1200 hours Barber course 32 hours per week is 40 weeks, 1000-hour instructor course for 32 hours per week is 35 weeks. Any student not completing the course within the contracted time may be charged $6.50 per hour for additional instruction needed to complete the course. Students are scheduled to attend 32 hours per week. All students are expected to comply with the scheduled assigned by the school and attend theory class as required. Attendance is required Tuesday through Friday form 8:oo a.m. to 5:oo p.m., with one hour per day allowed for lunch. Depending on scheduled services, a 15 minute break may allowed in the morning between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and in the afternoon between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Students clock out for each break and notify a staff member according to school procedure that they will be leaving the clinic floor. Students remaining on the premises may be called back to the clinic floor by a staff member and any student leaving the school grounds must clock out and provide notice to a staff member. THe Beauty College Of Eddy County, LLC offers different schedules. Full time is 32 hours per week. half time is 16 hours per week and 3/4 time is 24 hours a week.
Excused/Unexcused Absence Policy
Any time a student is not present on the school grounds during regular hours constitutes an absence. For an absence to be considered excused, students must document the reason for the absence in accordance with school procedure. Reasons for absences which may be considered excused are pre-approved absences, personal or family illness, transportation, childcare, death in the family and other mitigating circumstances which are justified and properly documented. Unexcused absences (any absence for which prior notice and/or proper documentation is not provided) are not tolerated. As listed above, the Cosmetology program of study is divided into four Phases. Within any given Phase, the first un-excuse absence will result in a written warning. The second unexcused absence will result in a 3-day suspension, and upon the third unexcused absence the student may be barred from attending classes or clocking hours until they have presented due cause before the Academic Review Board demonstrating why the student should be allowed to continue their course study. Time missed during this period is counted against the student's maximum allowed contract length. Other steps may be taken as well, as the administration deems necessary. Since completion of all assigned curriculum is a requirement to proceed into each successive Phase, completing a Phase will be seen as a good-faith effort on the part of the student, and so any unexcused absences accrued during the previous Phase will not be counted against them.
FRIDAYS ARE ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY!! ANY UNEXCUSED ABSENCE WILL RESULT IN A $25 CHARGE!!! PRIOR NOTICES ARE REQUIRED FOR MISSING FRIDAY OR ANY LENGTH OF TIME 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE SIGNED BY AN INSTRUCTOR. IF THE SCHOOL IS CLOSED ON A REGULAR SCHOOL DAY FOR ANY REASON THIS TIME WILL NOT BE COUNTED AGAINST YOU.
Tardy Policy
Students who arrive in the morning or after lunch late for theory class, the practical skills time or for testing may not be allowed to clock in until the end of the period for which they are late.
Academic Probation
Grades of theory tests and practical work are used to evaluate the student's academic progress. During the first probation, students are making satisfactory progress and financial aid funds may be disbursed to eligible students. At the end of the probationary period, thirty days (30), the student's progress will be re-evaluated. If the student is meeting the minimum requirements, student will be determined to be making satisfactory progress. If the student fails to meet minimum requirements, student may be terminated from school and no financial aid will be authorized. If some progress has been shown, the administration may decide to place the student on a second probationary period, during which no financial aid may be disbursed. Students that have lost Financial Aid eligibility due to unsatisfactory progress must schedule monthly payments until eligibility is reestablished. Not more than (4) probationary periods will be allowed during the course and Financial Aid may only be disbursed during the first probationary period.
APPEAL: If a student is determined not to be making satisfactory progress, the student may appeal the negative determination. The student must submit a written appeal to the Academics Review Board at the their regular meetings along with supporting documentation including the reasons why the determination should be reversed and a request for re evaluation. Documents will be reviewed and a decision on the students appeal will be made within 30 days and reported to the student. THe appeal and decision will be documented and maintained in the student's file.
Uniforms, Books, and Kits
Students attending The Beauty School of Eddy County, LLC receive a smock and one set of scrubs which is included in the contract cost. THe dress code is subject to change at the discretion of college administration. Complete supply kits will be issued to each student for use during their phase 1 training. Books will be purchased from the school bookstore for the appropriate course. They must be brought to school everyday, and students will not be allowed to enter theory class without them.
COURSE COST: ALL PRICES ON ANY COURSE CAN BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BEAUTY COLLEGE OF EDDY COUNTY, LLC. ALL BOOKS, KITS AND UNIFORMS ARE MANDATORY.
Over Contract Fees
Each course has been scheduled for completion within an allotted time frame. For students failing to complete the course within the maximum time, any hours remaining beyond the contract ending date will be paid for at the current hourly tuition rate in advance of clocking the remaining hours. Extra hours fees may waived due to mitigating circumstances.
Payment Terms
Student tuition maybe paid by cash, check, money order, credit/debit card or through financial aid which is which is defined as assistance that the student has been or will be awarded from institutinal, work-study, or other scholarships or grant programs. Student who are not eligible may arrange for a payment plan at the time of enrollment and may also apply for any other available financial assistance. Satisfaction of all debts owed to The Beauty College of Eddy County, LLC ia required to be allowed to take State Licensing exam. If an applicant has questions regarding financial aid or other consumer information, he or she may visit or call the business office during regular business hours and will be referred to the administrator of the institution, financial aid administrator or other appropriate personal.
LATE FEES
$10.00 FOR NEXT DAY LATE
$30.00 FOR ANY DAY AFTER AND NO STUDENT SHALL CLOCK IN ON THE NEXT MONTH UNTIL THE PRIOR MONTH HAS BEEN PAID IN FULL.
Disciplinary Actions
Disciplinary decisions may be appealed by submitting a clear, concise, written statement containing all pertinent data and facts. The appeal will be reviewed by the Academic Review Board and th3e student will be notified of the decision within 30 days of receipt of the appeal. Students are encouraged to voice their grievances with school management by means of the Institution's Grievance Procedures. Concerns which are not made known to the applicable management personnel cannot be effectively addressed in a timely manner.
Disciplinary Probation: A student may be placed on probation for a specified time frame for any infraction of the Standards of Conduct and other corrective action may also be required. If the student does not correct the situation, they may be placed on a second probation or suspended for three days, as determined by the Administration. If the issue is not corrected during the second probationary period, he or she may be suspended for 3 days and /or be required to go before the Academic Review Board to justify why the student should be allowed to continue their enrollment. Based on the evidence presented the Academic Review Board may accept the student's justification, assign additional corrective action, or declare that th3e student be disenrolled from classes.
Suspension: Students may be immediately suspended for 3 days for infraction of the Standards of Conduct at the discretion of the college administration.
A suspension day means you MUST attend theory and leave after theory for that day. If you don not come to theory then it doesn't count as a suspension day and will be added to offense.
Termination: Enrollment may be terminated at the discretion of the college administration for any reason deemed necessary to maintain the positive educational environment and general objectives of the institution or for any of the following reasons
Non-compliance of the Standards of Conduct or Enrollment Agreement
Non-compliance with State Board Regulations.
Non-compliance with the school's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
Any action which causes or could cause bodily harm to a client, student, or employee of the school.
Theft
Engaging in the manufacture, distribution, possession or use of drugs or alcohol.
Immoral or improper conduct.
Malicious actions or willful destruction of school or personal property.
Cheating

Hair, Skin and Nail Shows
Hair, skin and nail shows and Class Hours require full attendance the day before and the day after to receive hours for the show, online classes are not permitted, and travel time will not count as show hours. Must turn in proof of ticket and flyer for hours.
Stations
You must keep your station clean and sanitary. No clutter, books and paperwork should be put away in cabinets neatly. You must remain at your station always working. If at another student station you may be clocked out and sent hom3e. This is a learning environment we don't want to disrupt others in their learning time. People pay to come and learn. Work on multitasking skills, this will better you as a stylist when you are in a salon.
